The print is part of my ongoing work Body.Mind.Land where I explore connections between the body, the mind and the environment. The main inspiration comes from overcoming major depressive disorder. It's a time when I profoundly felt the interrelationship between my physical and mental well-being, and the impact of the environment on my health. The work consists of three parts: Body, Mind, and Land. These parts are interconnected, and explain each respective concept in relation to the experience of recovery from depression.

BODY

Being depressed I spent most of the time laying in bed. If I needed to stand up to do something, I did it quickly and then returned to bed. It's the place where I felt not as miserable. I always had a plush toy with me in bed, it was comforting to hold it. It also helped me to sleep. I couldn't sleep well, sometimes I could sleep a few hours, sometimes I had insomnia several days in a row, sometimes I was waking up screaming. The photographs which make this chapter were made in my bed, and refer to the common symptom of depressed people - inability to get out of bed.
